Interesting times at Brixham YES: as last week's Herald said, we have secured funds to buy the old Thresher site for redevelopment. This will add an affordable flat or two to Brixham's scant pool of available housing. We are also able to buy the building we presently occupy; we hope to work on it just a little to make it more suitable and versatile as our home. Recently we have refreshed our mainspace so it is much more pleasant to work in and more presentable at all times.
February has been busy. We have successfully run a tea dance, in collaboration with Chin Up and Doorstep Theatre. Not as many young volunteers as usual were able to help on the day, but a huge thanks to all involved, particularly to Jake James and Rhianan Moore. We have hosted a wedding, held a music evening and a craft day on top of our everyday activity.
Tom Crump has secured some funding which guarantees the continuation and development of music here. Every Friday from 7 to 10 practice and rehearsals culminate in events about every 3 months. To find out what's going on here, look at this site, pop in to the Edge or visit our shops.
In March, we are looking forward to the return of Sally, our counsellor and the completion of our rhino....
I'm busy working on my blog posts. Watch this space!
